"Radio Service" is doing radio test counts on Osage County's south repeater. Never heard this before!

That was just me. I use the callsign "radio service" when I've programmed new stuff in my radio and want to test it out. Although strange, no one thinks twice about a strange voice on the radio saying "radio service". They just figure that a radio somewhere is being worked on and that they just aren't in the know about it. :)

Pretty creative huh Phil? :)

Well however clever that actually is an admission to guilt for violating FCC rules....especially if you do not have permission and it is not an emergency.

 I should have known Shrek! Whoever it was sounded like classic Osage Co, they were called to a unit on patrol and asking him how he recieved, then a few minutes later called him again and asked "how do you recieve now?" and the deputy responded: "Uhhhh... the same as before?"

Osage County South Repeater

CommShrek has every right to be on the radio checking the signal and all . that's what a radio tech does he was not in any violation of FCC rules .

Anyway Radio service get's called out about 3 times a month or more because of a bad repeater connection . That south repeater can be used WAYYYYYYY up north at the OK-KS border i've been in a mobile when radio service wanted a signal check . heck a Hand-Held can key the south repeater from up north my dad did it a few times .

Only if he works for Osage Co.
You won't find me doing a radio check on the Osage Co repeater to test my radios...that would be a violation.

Currently Osage-1 is Sheriff Ty Koch; I thought they just recently went to the "Osage" designators (like 2005), I remember when I first started listening they were 114, 127, etc.

I don't remember when George Wayman was Sheriff (I was born about 10-15 years too late ;) ). I do remember him from recent news where he helped solve a 30 year old murder!

So it's wrong for me to be broadcasting my "Happy Camper Radio Hour" show on 155.49 MHz? I'm only pumping out 500 watts....

I think back when russell cottle ( Retired Sheriff ) he was Osage 101 Then the list goes on from there . But that case he worked about 30 year's ago was with my father ( Retired Under Sheriff ) .

FreqScout FYI i did not work for OSCO i was a ride along for a number of year's . I was either riding to a call of a break in or Running CODE 2 for a wreck . I was allowed to ride along when ever i wanted .

I honestly wonder, you'd be suprised what you hear on 490 with a decent base station and an antenna 248 meters in elevation

O RLY? Should have used the quote feature so we would know who you were talking to.

The answer is NO, I have never worked for Osage CSO. I don't meet the strict hiring requirements. I can count higher than 100 and I have too many teeth. :)
