Ive picked up OSP aviation calling out vehicle description and speeds on 45.02.
45.02 is an input frequency
I could hear them all the way in akron (where i left my work) and can hear them even clearer in kent (about 13 miles east of akron).
It usually goes. " 88 on a gold colored minivan left lane" or something like that.
I believe they are working on the turnpike based on the number of vehicle registrations being called in on the turnpike repeater system.
I also conclude this becase kent is within about 10 miles of the turnpike and they are using the highway patrol channel 45.02.
FYI many here already know this but the turnpike OSP uses a 15X.XX MHz repeater system and not MARCS.
The time is 12:15 EST.
