Overheard OSP Post 40 on Low-Band last evening tell units MARCS was down, use their low-band mobiles. I'd thought they were REMOVING the low-band radios once MARCS was operational. Although, they've only been using it a couple on months here in SE Ohio....Steve

Here in central ohio, they use low band as backup too. Probably every agency in the country uses their old frequencies and systems as backups if they are replaced. It's rare that an agency will get a new system and just trash the old one.

The Folks in Hamilton County did just that. They got a new radio system and removed all the old radios and consoles, etc...
No one ever said Hamilton makes the smartest of moves.

Hey all,
I heard OSP Post 40 on low band the other night also. I guess it pays to keep those frequencies in the scanner. They have been using several conventional frequencies the past few days.
Here's some of the following............
465.375MHz Mobile Extenders ( I didn't know if they were still using them)
42.560 Car to Car
44.740 Old F-1 frequency
I am still planning to keep all of my OSP frequencies in my scanners just in case anything else may happen. You never know when they may use them again.
