Which post(s) cover:

Henry County, Wood County, Defiance and Seneca Counties? I know there is a post in Definace, but the OHP presense seems to be small. I take it the county mounties handle most of the LE activity?

Yes, in Ohio depending on where you live county sheriff handles most LE. OSP is mostly traffic, and crashes. On state highways, state roads etc. From time to time a tropper from Post 48 will help out a deputy who needs backup. Hope this helps more.

Most OSHP posts dont keep more than 4 troopers on duty at all times. I know some posts with 1 or 2 on sometimes. GottIstGutig had it right. the County Sheriff or local police will handle law enfrocement, etc. OSHP is for traffic on highways or byways or any public roadway and crashes. In some areas, local police handle their own crashes.

Post 4 (Ashtabula County) has an average of 6-8 troopers on duty at any given time. Possibly more.

Post 4 assists with traffic, crashes, and law enforcement in certain areas. I've heard them get called to Ashtabula Township for 'kids driving RC cars in the roadway' when the SO doesn't have any units available.

I know that call sounds silly. But............
