• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Good afternoon we have just installed a mototrbo linked capacity plus system and in the process of deploying XPR7550/7350/5550 code plugs are deployed and successfully tested. However we are having trouble running OTAP as although the job ( change in code plug) is succesful. It.It seems to hang and indicates it waiting and when i look at job queue it sees nothing. I suspect the job isn't going out we are using a radio and not the repeater to propagate the changes.Does anyone have a full process to set up an OTAP connection from scratch?

You should be able to do this. The radio you are using as the donor radio must be in control station mode as a data gateway. Although for an LCP I have only done this with the wireline MNIS/DDMS gateway server. Look at this site you may find some answers. DJ0WH

Your problem is could be how you have the job processor set up. In the CPS path have you got it going to the trbo cps or to the cruncher? I have seen it used both ways. Send me a private message with your email and i will help you out.

Do you know what i need to tick/ un-tick to setup the XPR5550 PROFILE so its defined as a control station on the CPS in linked capacity plus system?

I never change anything. That way a can just grab any radio to do OTAP. As long as you have the OTAP key in every radio.

Your location say's Sinai -- So I assume you have EMEA software ? and while you said XPR-5550 since that's a NA radio you are probably using a DP something correct ?

As Abnrto pointed out you need to have the target radio authorized for OTAP -

Then the radio must be a Data Control Station -- Requires numerous settings in that radios Code plug - But they document it fairly well in the System Planning Guide and Radio Manager DP notes.

I dont use any data channels. I do it all over the voice channels. System Planner is good but here is a website that will help you out. Over The Air Programming (OTAP) Part 1 | DJ0WH Also, if you look at the cps that you download or the cd it will have a folder called documentation. It will have the pdf's that you will need. There is a radio management tutorial there also.
