I have not heard from my contact at the airport regarding more details on this system. I have just recently been adding these systems to add to my rotation to see what I can do to confirm and identify what I can.

I did a drive by the other day in and around CYOW and heard nothing and I also had close call on. I may not have it programmed in properly(programming from scratch is new to me) or it was silent the entire time I was within range. I will keep working on it.

There was activity on some of the known frequencies. I had written some info down but ended up losing it.

I have it setup as a Cap + MotoTRBO setting in my programming. But as mentioned they could be just seperate repeaters not networked even though the talkgroups have access to the other frequencies.

With that said. I have 1 system built. Cap +

With 4 sites set up each with 1 frequency.

454.6375
460.2125
461.4125 CC2
463.0125 CC2 I have LCN 2 in here, but not sure if that's correct or not. I'll have to take the LCN out next time I'm down that way to see unless someone else can piece this together.

Talkgroups monitored are
11
21
31

One or 2 of them sound like plows or Tarmac maintenance etc....plows for runways etc..
Some of these talkgroups have been seen on more then 1 frequency.

Hope this helps.

The system I had in the unit was the following based on what I thought was the same system. Looks like we are looking at two separate systems at the airport.
CYOW Air Canada
Site 01 Parkade Roof
DMR One Frequency
460.700000 CC=8
Now both are ready to go and I will be in and around CYOW this morning.

I recall that there are two DMR users on 463.0125 in the Ottawa area.

One in Quebec is DCC-1, and the airport is DCC-2

Two items to add.
1. I drove in and around the area and only got bars that weren't solid so either there are too many frequencies on the Airport Authority System or my location was poor. I would need to sit somewhere very close to the area near the NRC wind tunnel or same distance from where the site is. I heard no tags but that didn't surprise me due to the weather and the nature of the talk-groups.
2. I will update the Air Canada Licenced system according to the TAFL search results and see what I can hear on my next trip.

Where does everyone park when the are scanning at the airport? I can't seem to find a good location that is safe to stop and park that is close enough. I would like to head out tomorrow morning hoping for enough snow to make it interesting.

Or find somewhere else not close by that has some decent height. Must be a few higher elevated areas around the city to park. Where do the plane watchers go? Or are they not allowed there any more?

I was lucky when I was in Ottawa. I was about 4 stories up facing the airport from Carling. Line of site was decent.

I will look into the plane watching tip, thanks. My initial research has told me they have changed some of it. I will update the group on what I find out.

I have found out that there is a free parking lot on Alert Road near the Fed Ex Hangar is the main location for Plane watching or in our case can be used for system monitoring/discovery/analysis.

So I am at the airport doing so analysis of the frequencies listed. I have been seeing and hearing activity on two of the four as follows.
461.4125 CC=2 slot 1 and 2 CAP
463.0125 CC=2 slot 1 and 2 CAP
I did a system analysis of all four programmed in using the mobile only and it says 1 frequency only.
This will give me enough to program several versions of the system to monitor on my next visit.
I'm only hearing digital on 460.7 that is licensed to Air Canada.

An FYI the Alert road parking lot is not plowed.

Not sure what you mean; mobile only is input frequencies? System appears to have four channels, two frequencies.

Can scanners show what the LCNs (channel numbers) are?

Dave,
When I mean by mobile is my BDCD43HP. Normally I try and use my laptop when gathering uids and system information. Due to my limited battery life on my laptop using it is not feasible until I replace the battery. I have not be able to see LCN using my scanner as the only information I can see is what I posted above. From further research online I have discovered the noise heard on the two are Motorola Type 11 systems and are control channels.
I would like to fully utilize my BDCD43HP for next time.
Yes, on my 436 you can Analyze and do an LCN Search
Can you pm me or point me in a direction of some instructions for to see the LCN?
One other concern is I was seeing when locked onto the second Frequency TGs that were not in the pattern of 11, 21, 31 etc and were in another language it was too brief to identify. Might it be a shared frequency within range of the airport with another system?
