can anyone confirm if the firefighters get paged out with digital pagers or 2-tone pagers. I heard a rumor that the volenteers have voice pagers again and now carry portables.

No rumour to the first part: 155.610 alpha/POCSAG; don't know about the "portables" part.

Some of the volunteers who have advanced Medical Training (More than BTLS) and who regularly respond, and volunteer officers have Portables issued to them (or did in the past). As of 2 weeks ago there was no change to the paging system being used by OFD.
