Listening to Ottawa Public Safety tonight and found that the following Police talkgroups was in the clear and in analog mode:

02-145 - OPS/Fleet - Police Support

All the rest are still Provoice

The best part of Highway 40 is where it turns in to Highway 417 my friend! Not a chance! LOL

Matt, Matt, Matt:

I was told that Ottawa PS no longer uses the T/Gs in the d/b, hence they should be inactive.

If I'd said this (and might have) it was before some updating was done. Nevertheless I don't
know how accurate it is, or who submitted the updates, and based on other submissions
there is a fair bit of stale/incorrect data in there.

TG 373 is incorrectly listed as digital but has always been analog clear. It is about
the only analog police TG that's likely to be heard. Gets boring after awhile, I just
locked it out.

Hi Dave, I just read your post and corrected talkgroup 373.

I have time off until Tuesday and would have the time to make some corrections.

They are un-scannable, not un-monitorable. Uniden XT series scanners will also hold on a provoice talkgroup but will not pass audio.

Most of the non routine dispatch TG's ARE encrypted. The rest are just straight PROvoice. DSD is not easy to get working, but WOW is it worth the hassle!

Yes it is, and i am willing to give it a try with the software.
Talking to another person, who monitors using the software on a US agency running EDACS
says that it will only decypher conventionally, So trunking wont work, but if you
were to connect a seperate scanner in the audio of the computer have the software decode it
Only have it scan the Ottawa EDACS, if OPS talkgroup comes up, it will decode the audio
Yes a lot of hassle, and lots of fine tuning involved, with the software set-up, but its worth the challenge.
