Not to mention that that lic is EXPIRED.... Look in the fcc db for that parish and see if they have a NEW lic and what the freqs for that would be.

If its an LTR system you will hear iether data bursts on the repeaters... These would sound like a key up with NO voice... For LTR Standard you would hear these every 10 or so seconds, and for LTR Passport they are every 2 or so seconds. For an LTR Multinet system, youd hear a hissing sound on one of the repeaters..

milf, I hear key ups every few seconds on one or more of their frequencies. It is annoying as hell and I always figured it was just electrical interference. Is this what you are talking about: http://esportsea.com/dustin/audio/scanner/interference.zip

If so, what exactly is an LTR system?

Edit: I did some digging around in the FCC database and they have a new license, which was granted on 1/17/2005, WQBY850. It has the same frequencies as the old one, though.

Yes, it probably is an LTR system from what you are hearing. If you have an LTR-capable scanner you can program the frequencies in LTR mode and see if you get talkgroup IDs (this will tell you if it is LTR Standard). However, it may be LTR Passport, which is not trackable by any scanner.

You can read about LTR here:
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/wiki/index.php?title=LTR

Also, there is a lot of info in the LTR forum:

Yeah, I just spent quite a while looking through the LTR forum and looking online. I think I understand it now. The only problem is I doubt my scanner can handle an LTR system (pro-94), I'm getting a pro-96 in a few days also.. but I doubt it will be able to handle LTR neither.

Correct on both counts. Keep an eye out for a Pro-92 on sale somewhere. Also lots of the Uniden's do LTR but check specifics before buying.

ward8vfd, I have lived here for 19 years. (I am 19 years old :p) I live off of Old Highway 15, going out towards calhoun.

safetyobc, I'm not really sure. The FCC database says they are trunked and you hear key up sounds consistently on a few of their channels, so my best guess is that it is an LTR system.

thats cool, but i had all 5 channels in there; and when u posted the wrong info, it erased mine, so dont post incorrect info. there not trunked, there 800mhz conventional, im listnin to them right now and have been for a year, no more posting **** unless u have heard it yourself and have made sure that your correct, cause that messes up everything that ppl have put there that is correct, i have heard and keep on my own little database, every used freq in ouachita and morehouse parishes, so if u need something, just ask

I'm not sure what I posted that was incorrect :p

My post on this forum was just asking why they had no control channel. I never said that I was for sure that it was trunked.

As far as posting on the RR database, I posted the SCAT/Tactical frequency and I'm 100% sure that one is correct. I've been listening to operations on there for the past few weeks and they even refer to the dispatcher as "SCAT Operator."

So, I'm not really sure what I posted that was false. I apologize for whatever it was :)

Also, could I see your little database? I'm pretty sure that I have everything, but I wanted to compare notes against yours.

Thanks.

Here is what I have programmed into my scanner:

http://www.esportsea.com/dustin/scanner/

I also have the frequencies for pretty much every fast food place around here. Along with state trunked system and entergy trunked (which can be found on the RR database).

My frequencies are basically just a copy of the RR database, with a few extras added. As everything can be found in the FCC database, nothing is really a secret :)

true, you do have lots and lots of correct freqs, but only 1 of those are primary, and some are input freqs, which u wont hear unless your near the units, yes u can get them off fcc, but; u dunno if their input or output, and lots of folks dont renew liscences, so yeah, do u have any instant messenger?
