Please forgive me if this has been asked and answered. Does anyone have any word on when the rebanding will start taking place for Ohio? I know I've seen a map and chart but for the life of me I cannot remember where the heck it is. Thanks for any replies.

Probably not until mid-2007, if then. The voluntary negotiation period for current licensees of the 851-854 band was pushed back to July 3 of this year, and lasts 90 days. Then comes the mandatory negotiation period for those licensees; another 90 days. Then the current public safety band....

Here is the schedule as it currently stands:

July 3-October 2, 2006 - Voluntary negotiation period for 851-854 MHz licensees
October 3-January 2 2007 - Mandatory negotiation period for 851-854 MHz licensees
Febrary 1-April 30, 2007 - Voluntary negotiation period for 866-869 MHz licensees
May 1-July 31, 2007 - Mandatory negotiation period for 866-869 MHz licensees

Then they start changing frequencies; a few licensees *might* get changed a bit early, but realistically I wouldn't look for that to happenn......

And it's possible that the negotiation period for 866-869 MHz licensees will get pushed back.

In other words, your current scanners are still good for at least another 12-18 months.

The 96 is the only one I use for 800, so I'm glad I got it. Maybe a second for father's day??
