I too am in the Market for an Outdoor P25 700-800 MHz Antenna in Ohio. The only real solid options I have seen for this are well over 100.00. Any suggestions anyone?

P 25 is just the mode used, it has nothing to do with reception.
An antenna is an antenna.
If you want decent reception, you need to buy a good antenna and you need really good coax or hardline from the antenna to the radio. You need to get the antenna up as high as you can get it, 10' above the main roof or the highest object in the neighborhood is preferred.

Are you trying to listen to a multi-site or a simulcast site? If simulcast, you'll need a directional antenna and that doesn't always work well. Also what receiver are you using? Your going to need a good quality cable and connectors. That can cost you more than the antenna depending on length. Recommend you use LMR400 (Not from China ! )

Lots of knock off cable marked LMR Type showing up and it is junk on the 700-800 bands. Very good advice, get genuine Times LMR cable.

Same is true for antennas, Comtelco and they are in Glendale Heights, IL.
