Over glass antenna mount?

A few weeks ago I saw a Cadillac pass by me with what appeared to be a Larsen NMO 2/70 antenna on some sort of over glass antenna mount sitting over one of the back windows. It looked similar to the BNC over glass antenna mount that I have now but it must have had either an NMO or UHF style antenna mount on it. Have any of you ever seen something like that?

I am thinking that I could use something like that on my Toyota Tacoma's X-Tra Cab window for a quick antenna mount. That way I can put one of those 18" or 24" Comet or Diamond dual band ham radio antennas on it and use it for my scanners and/or ham radios.

I have Larsen 2/70s on both my cars. They aren't BNC or NMO - the antenna has a female thread and the mount has a male thread. About a #6 (like a 6-32 screw) if memory serves.

You can use anyone's on-glass 2/70 antennas - but you can't use Manufacturer A's mount and Manufacturer B's antenna - the mount and the antenna come as a pair and won't work if you mix and match.

And I don't know how well a 2/70 antenna will work at 800 MHz. (I'm pretty sure it won't work very well at 30-50 MHz.)

Actually, what I saw wasn't an on glass antenna. It was a mount similar to the MFJ-310 which sits over the glass of a rolled up car window:

But instead of having a BNC or SMA connector on it, it must have had either an NMO or a UHF style mount on the bracket because it appeared to have a Larsen NMO 2/70 on it. I wouldn't have put something as long as the 2/70 on one but it would probably be fine with one of the shorter 18-24" Comet or Diamond dual band antennas. What I saw appeared to be a bit more sturdy than the BNC or SMA versions I have seen.

I have used my Larsen NMO 2/70 in the past with my scanners it worked rather well on VHF, UHF, and 800 MHz.

This will give me a place to put an antenna that I can use for both my scanner as well as for any of my dual band ham radios until I find a more permanent solution.

I had never seen an antenna mount like that before a few weeks ago either. I am guessing it must be something pretty new.
