Just unboxed my SDS100 and I'm surprised no one has mentioned the overly bright LEDs. They are right in line with the reading angle for the display screen and really tough on these old eyes. Any way to turn these LEDs down? Otherwise, no choice but to turn them off.

There's no way to adjust their brightness, or to turn them off. Their brightness is set so you can still see them in daylight.

Or you could turn the screen brightness up to match the LEDs. Which you need to do anyway if you want to see the screen outdoors in daylight.

I find the LED lights OK and acceptable to my eyes but I can typically drive fine facing Sun glare at naked eyes without squinting, so something abnormal about my eyes I guess.
The idea is great! This is very useful for folks with sensitive eyes or trying to sleep in a room with device LEDs all over.

Thanks to the OP for this thread.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. As Jon pointed out, it has to be bright enough for daylight viewing, and I plan to use this in my truck. The only issue is when facing directly into the screen -- or in a darkened room. Changing the viewing angle helps, and fast blink breaks the continuous beam. But it's like looking into a laser straight on.
