It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. Resident shoots suspected prowler
By Coloradoan staff

A Fort Collins man is in the hospital after he was shot by a homeowner who allegedly saw him prowling in his back yard early this morning.
David Ebner, 28, is in critical condition in the surgical/neurological intensive care unit at Poudre Valley Hospital after the incident that happened around 2 a.m. Steven Ray, 58, was awakened by barking dogs and saw a prowler in his back yard in the 300 block of High Pointe Drive, according to a press release from Fort Collins police spokeswoman Rita Davis.
The power was out due to an unrelated outage, Davis said, and Ray went into the backyard with a .45 caliber handgun.
The two men struggled and Ebner was shot trying to flee the scene, Davis said. He was found 20 minutes later in a vacant lot not far from the home.
