Somebody reported it was no longer in use so it was removed.

This is untrue. They are still using it but apparently they've switched to NXDN.

Yeah, I was going on information provided on Sept. 1/14 which stated that the freq. was no longer in use and it was unknown what was now being used.

Thanks for the restoration Mike! :)

No problem! I had a friend tell me that they finally threw the switch and were no longer using their old speech inversion.

Information passed along to me describes that the frequency as being one of a trunked system.

Can someone confirm this and help map this TRS?

Thanks :)

Whats the freq?

The freq. in the database is one from a trunked system.
Apparently there are more that have to be searched for using DSD+ if anyone is in a position to check.

With Hometown Hockey heading to Owen Sound, there will likely be increased traffic on the radio.

Should still be 142.1550Mhz.

I'm not sure if it's trunked or not. I can't imagine a city the size of Owen Sound would need a trunking system. I'm wondering if it's linked to Saugeen Shores somehow or somebody is confusing the Saugeen Shores system with Owen Sound?

I'm getting a stronger signal on 142.148.xxx as you can see from the screen caps.

I was noticing NXDN on 142.14 but it would not provide any info on DSD+ other than a 48 system.

I barely pull in Simcoe County, yet alone Bruce or Grey.

Is the NXDN signal continuous like a CC; if so does a network ID show on DSD+ or
just the RAN ?

I ran across some NXDN used by MRC de Papineau in Que...which look like
single-site trunked sites as there seems to be only channel one per site; switch from
data to voice as required, sort of like an EDACS SCAT or Moto VoC.

I have never used DSD+, but this is what I am getting. Seems like lots of errors and I cant hear any voice at all, however that might be my audio output???

If I had to guess, I would say they're encrypted.

I've added the system to the database. Just need to identify Sites 1&2.

Mike,

I heard voice in the clear (only momentarily) on the CC (is this possible)?

How can I identify the other sites your looking for...not familiar with the process!

Yup, it's possible.

Easiest way to find the other sites is to search from 138-144Mhz listening for any other frequencies with the same sound. Run DSD and look for the same NID of 2074.

It's strange the NID is different. I'm wondering if you've found a different system?

NXDN doesnt carry audio on the control channel in a trunked scenario so its not possible to hear audio even momentarily on a trunked system. Looks like he is getting interference from more than source to be able to hear any audio due to having an SDR on a wide band setup or frequency drift due to the SDR.

Looking at the freq.'s in use in Bruce County on FleetNet, I don't see 142.035.

Could that NID of 2050 be for the Saugeen Shores PS or Port Elgin... etc?
