Hello to everyone...

I live in Owensboro, Ky and was just wondering if anyone in the area ran across any interesting/unknown/different frequencies they've been monitoring? Getting bored of hearing OPD bust their usual suspects and Komfort Kabbbies not being able to find their fares! lol Just kidding – Seriously, just looking for something a bit different to listen to/scan for.

I've been monitoring the talkgroups that are listed as unknown (in the database) and trying to figure out what they are used for so I can update it. I also scan through the amateur radio frequencies (with my 2 meter and 70cm radios) and every once in awhile I'll fire up my marine radio and listen to the tug boat pilots talk.

Yeah, I’ve been monitoring the unknown public works talkgroups in the Owb EDACS system without much luck.. Seems to just be mostly general city maintenance. You’ll hear everything from detention center road crews to the city’s IT department on them.

I think I will give the marine freq’s a listen today.. There’s a lot of barge traffic/etc on the Ohio river, I bet it’s pretty interesting. Thanks dwh367
