Also, does anyone have a list of police dept. 10- codes, etc.?

I am looking to buy a scanner in the next few weeks and would like as much info as possible about local systems so I don't waste my money on something that won't work for me locally. You definately want to get a system that can do EDACS trunking. Personally i got a Uniden 780 XLT and even with the standard antenna that came with it i can pick up the public safety channels (police, fire, etc.) from Philpot with no problems.

I got an external antenna and i can pick up warrick county as well, havent really tried to scan too much so i dont know what my distance limit will be.

Owensboro EDACS

I'm in Owensboro too. I monitor the city EDACS system with my pro-92. It beeps as if the EDACS system has an anti scanner beep. Anyone else having this problem? I'm beginning to think my 92 is screwed up.

If you want to monitor the Kentucky State Police, you will need at least a Uniden 785D, since they use the Project 25 digital protocol. This will allow you more flexibility and you can enjoy the comms from the KSP as well.

What other stuff have you picked up around here?
I usually only listen to the trunked system, but every now and then i listen to the sheriff as well.

Its amazing the stuff that goes on in owb that i didnt know about.. carchases, cops shooting teargas into a house, etc.

If you have an outdoor antenae(sp) you can pick up the Evansville EDACS with no trouble. E-mail me at skippy31@hotmail.com and I can send you my .spg file if you have a program for your pc.

i have a bc250d scanner

i have the owensboro police department frequencies in my scanner.

i was wondering if you guys knew all the other law enforcement frequencies.

possibly ksp, fbi, atf, us marshalls, etc

just like to know everything thats going on in town b/c im noisy
