It was mentioned in another thread on here that OCPS are currently sourcing a new radio system. Anyone have any details on this? I was able to find this article:

recommendations for replacement of upgrades, associated costs and implementation plan
- Business Plan for voice communication replacement to include acquisition options to allow
laptop computer terminals to be placed in each police vehicle and Global Positioning System
(G.P.S.) for all police vehicles
The encrypted bit makes me cringe. Hopefully they only have that in mind for intelligence type channels. The fact that they mention digital and GPS makes me wonder if they would look at MotoTRBO as an option.
