Ozaukee Sheriff to Dispatch Port Police

The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Department will take over dispatching duties for the Port Washington Police Department beginning Feb. 25 as an efficiency and costsaving move, Sheriff Maury Straub told the county Public Safety Committee on Tuesday.

The Sheriff's Department currently dispatches for the Thiensville, Saukville and Fredonia police and fire departments, and for the Newburg, Waubeka and Belgium fire departments, Straub said.

Mequon is considering transferring its dispatch duties to the Sheriff's Department, as well.

I guess this means Port PD will soon disappear from conventional freq 155.655 & talkgroup 02-105.

No, just Washington Co.

Does Newburg get paged by both Washington and Ozaukee sheriff's depts?

Not necessarily. OZSD has the ability to communicate on 02-105 and most likely on 155.655 as well. Weather Port PD gets calls on the Sheriffs disp talk group or not we will need to wait and see.
I believe Port FD is also being dispatch by the County on 2/25 as well.
