Has the conventional P-25 system to be the stop-gap between the current EF Johnson Multi-Net II system and STARCOM21 been installed yet?

Is it up an running?

Any confirmed frequencies?

As of last weekend, everybody was still using their old systems/freqs. A recent CARMA posting stated that the County is still waiting on the mobile repeaters before they can switch to the P25 radios. A METCOM dispatcher wrote “The plan here is the Mclean County sheriff Dept and all rural PD's will be the first users of our local system and middle summer Normal FD will be switching over and then late summer of early fall the Town of Normal PD will switch over to the new system and when Starcom comes up and running they will reprogram the radio's here and they will be fully on the system. Andy”. I’m anxious to see when/how this change is implemented. The Starcom control channel in Normal is now active.

You can also try posting this question in the landofzoz.com forums since the info I have is all third-hand and people there may know more than I do.

Next week the stop-gap P25 digital system should go on-line for testing. Five XTS5000 portables have been programmed for the first round of testing on this system.

The sheriff's department will be conducting the testing for use by their personnel.

It is my understanding the two frequencies for this system have changed several times recently as several (unknown by me) problems are being resolved.

Might you have those two frequencies?

I'd like to update the database.
