I am monitoring a new P-25 system in Kerrville, TX using a HP-1. When I use the quick frequency entry method I have no trouble receiving transmissions. However, when I try and scan the same frequency downloaded from the RR data base, I cannot receive the transmission. Any ideas as to why not?

When you say you can't receive it from the downloaded RR database, I see you say that it is not coming up while you are scanning, The first thing that comes to mind is do you have the correct service type turned on? Also make sure you have your distance setting properly set. If you are also new to the HP-1, initial setup can be a little tricky. I always tell my friends to turn on all service types that are available (some may not be) and set distance to the maximum amount. Once you feel comfortable with those settings, you can fine-tune them as needed.

Is this a one frequency p25 system? Just wondering since you are entering from the quick frequency entry method and can't enter all system frequencies if it's a multi frequency system. ???
