I overheard some chit chat on the P25 system in Concord yesterday (Saturday) saying that some of the units would be going online Tuesday. Don't know who it was talking or who it will be going live on the system but it will be Tuesday according to what I heard on tg 7036....Radio techs have been testing quite a number of tg's this past week or 2....Just a heads up......

Should be a daily cutover of different agencies as the week goes on. Post any talk groups you're able to identify as you hear them.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to monitor it any today while I was down there, and I'm going out of town tomorrow.

Marshall, if you see this what would you think about a sticky for a little bit while the Concord leg of the CLT P25 system gets kicked off so we can steer all discussions for it here or do we need to keep that in the Charlotte thread since it's part of the Regional System?

As these new talkgroups are turned on the new P25 system they are being turned off or eradicated from the old 800 system it appears because they are no longer being heard there or being patched to old system.

Correct. They are recycling frequencies from the 3600 system and pushing them to the 9600 system. If the patching were to remain in place it would be very easy to busy out both systems. Plus, each agency is making a complete switch simultaneously meaning there isn't much need for patching.

Kannapolis switched yesterday, Concord today, the County should finish up tomorrow. 6403 will then be left to just public works/public service. Haven't seen any radios yet, but I imagine they have a zone or two from the old system for back-up. Charlotte has 2 zones in their radios with the 0F18 system still in them.

Got them added, thanks for posting to the forums AND the submission engine; it makes tracking these updates so much easier.

I wish I had a good decode on the system...I need to play with my antenna setup. I was really hoping I could help track this part of the system from it's infancy (like I did with the first site from 2D0).

What exactly is happening with Cabarrus agencies

Are they switching the current system to P25? What are the listings I see on the CharMeck system. I appologize for not keeping up, but what I see is confusing. I see a site listed for CharMeck in Concord and TGs in the CharMeck listings for these agencies as simulcast but no updates to the Cabarrus systems here.

Thnaks,

Harold,

All public safety radios are now operating on the Cabarrus cell of the Charlotte P25 regional system (as of Friday). Public works, utilities, & transit will remain on the analog 6403 system for another 7 or 8 months before cutting over to P25. I'll try and work on making the database more easily understood now that the transition is 99% complete.

Thanks!

That confirms what I thought I was seeing.
