The PRO-2096 will function FINE on the SAFE-T both the Motorola Smart Zone OmniLink, and the P25 upgrade. The P25 is only in the Southern part of the State right now though.
You will ned to use ARC96, or Win96 to program in the Motorola system as it is Rebanded and you need the software to properly set up the system.

Thank you. I used ARC96 trial version and I am getting nothing for Knox County . It was working before the change and I have programmed several other scanners but I cannot get the 2096 to do anything. I will try again.

Site 220, 267, are your primary sites for Knox County. For complete coverage, you also want the surrounding sites. 223, 261, 269, and there are others but I would have to dig deeper to get them all again. Remember, program as Motorola, without the rebanded tables, and CC only, with a plain FM freq between the sites. Same as you do for an PRO-96. in fact, I can set up an ARC96 file or Win96 file for Knox County area SAFE-T for you if you want to play around with it.

LOL In fact, I have an file about done for Knox area.... total of 6 Sites, and so far only the Knox County TGs. If you like, I can add as many of the surrounding agencies as you want, and IDHS, ISP, DNR DOT, etc... Just let me know.

So Illinois
I'm in SE Illinois and I get the following Safe-T sites at my house, Vincennes, Princeton, Petersburg, Edwardsport and Paxton. Paxton site has not been upgraded to P-25 as of yesterday. The only issue I have hearing Paxton is this site shares a frequency which is the control channel for the Sumner site on Starcom system in Illinois. I haven't figured out a way to add a NAC on my BCD996XLT scanner so it'll ignore the Illinois site.

If your still having trouble 4mindnbody I'm just across the river. I've programmed a few 2096 scanners for friends.

I run the Knox County Scanner Feed and have programmed all my own scanners with the P25. I will have to try something else for this 2096. On my scanner feed I use the Uniden BCD996P2. I have a Pro-197 in my living room. Oh well, I will mess around with the 2096 and see what I can do .Thanks for all the help

Milf, will the Bearcat 250 and 785 work on the new system. Can it be programmed to track the system?

The BC250 D and BC785 D will not work on true P25 systems. The BCi 25D Digital Card only allows them to get the P25 CAI TGs on Legacy 3600 BPS Motorola systems. They do not work on true P25 9600 BPS systems. Also they are not good on rebanded systems, so they should not even really work on the Legacy SAFE-T Motorola Smart Zone OmniLink.

BC250D - The RadioReference Wiki
BC785D - The RadioReference Wiki

You must use an RS PRO-96/2096, BC296D/796D or newer to do true P25 systems.

That's exactly as I thought...Have used a 785 with the frequencies programmed as conventional, and had some success listening when not on an overly busy site. Thanks for your input...
