p25 help

hi all id like to know whats going on here i monitor SCDNR / SCFC alot but today ive been picking up
p25 transmissions or what i think to be be p25 transmissions on 151.415 NAC 105 and 151.295 NAC 105 i have a bank setup on my pro-197 just for p25 for SCDNR and SCFC but its not picking up the transmissions it a encrypted sound almost like Listening to Encrypted Police Frequency on a Radio Shack PRO 197 Digital Trunk Tracking Scanner - YouTube at the 43 second mark but u cant make out that some one is talking it will do this for 10 to 20 mins then silence then about an hr later or so u can here it pop up on the scanner its same NAC as the freq 151.1600 and sounds exactly the same i cant figure out whats wrong maybe i should put them in p25 auto trunk bank dunno yet

Hi KamiKaze 1, I believe the gurus on here determined the SCDNR are using Motrtrbo radios and the digital software used on those radios are not compatible with the P25 discrimination software used in the Uniden, GMR and RS scanners.

I read somewhere else on RR that there is a way to open the digital signals with a PC or laptop, but it takes some technical expertise.

Hopefully, UPMan will someday obtain the licensing to install it on the Unidens (fingers crossed).

thnx im goin fishing friday and the DNRS boat ramp is right next to where i fish so im gonna flag him down and see what i can find out
