• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

After calling, google searching, etc... I haven't found anything.

Does anyone know where I can/buy find a GPS speaker mic (Item # 1600696-3) for a Thales Liberty in New or Used condition?

If anyone comes by one please send me a private message, reply to this thread, etc. and I'll get back to you.

Please Note: I've called Thales and they say they will not sell any new GPS speaker mic's unless there is a minimum order of 25 GPS mic's.

Yes, the radio is loaded with P25 features (All) including GPS, MDC1200 from factory.

Also, I have Thales' "Commercial Price List" and access to special pricing, but the problem remains the same, as I described it previously.

Having GPS feature turned on in your radio has nothing to do with if you have FIRMWARE to support it. The firmware was released to one customer only who purchased GPS mics with all their radios. It only supports Tier I not Tier II GPS. So unless you are part of and working with the SUSAR team that purchased the feature and mics it will not do you much good, nor will you have the firmware.

Your price list and special pricing means nothing. Things have changed since they were printed. You are looking at $500.00+ for a mic if you order 25 or more to meed the min. order

Just to clarify, below are pictures of the radio/s menu-features, and GPS menu.

I asked about the GPS mic at the same as the radio, but the answer was as I wrote previously, and it still remains the same (lack of interest from other buyers for production to be stocked).

Regarding the cost, it would be about $8k for 25 GPS mic's (after calling Thales), but there are less then 10 radios in my area, so what's the point on purchasing 25 GPS mic's, when all the other radios are a mix of different brands (EF Johnson, Tait, etc...)?
