P25 Phase 2 on Scanners

Was wondering if any of the current scanners (I have a PRO-197) will monitor Phase 2 P25?

I think he's more referring to the Pro-197 not being able to listen to Phase II as OP has one.

I can say that you can do it with a PSR-800 with the beta 2 firmware on the Maryland FIRST
system. I've have it on that system right now. Accident in the entrance lanes to the tunnel and all lanes are closed!

I was specifically interested in the '197, since I own one, but glad to know the '800 can.

The reason you can't monitor Phase II P25 and MotoTRBO is because they're TDMA protocols. The only scanner with the hardware to handle TDMA right now is the GRE PSR-800. Without the hardware, no amount of software will allow a Pro-197 to receive a TDMA protocol transmissions.
