I would like to program these statewide frequencies into my 996p2 to get a P25 site going. These appear to be single frequency trunked sites since no control channel is listed. So is it correct that I enter each one as a separate site, and not as a group under a singe Parks & Recs site for example?

I own the 996P2 but it's in my car and not in front of me. However my 325P2 is in front of me and the programing should be the same.

Press Menu.

Program System.

New System.

Conventional.

Edit Group.

Edit Channel.

Go back and set audio type to All (default) or Digital. As P25 is the digital voice on these conventional frequencies.

You can also set the P25 NAC as indicated. Not really required.

There are 2 ways around to it

The method @tvengr suggested is one.
The other method is to program as one-frequency trunk, then create a new site for each frequency. The advantage of using this method is to program talkgroups.
That's interesting, thanks very much. If I find an active site I like I will look into that approach, when I learn how to ID talkgroups.

It would be very rare to find a conventional P25 channel that uses multiple talkgroup IDs. They may not all use TGID 1 but having multiple groups is not typical.
