I have a P25 Phase 1 (FDMA) Common Air Interface system that has several sites.
my local sites use 800 MHz frequencies and they all work fine. However some of the non local sites have frequencies in the 700 MHz range. Frequency information acquired via CC Data using Pro96Com.
The system has a band plan of
1) 851.00625/00625
2) 762.00625/00625
verified functional local sites are:
857.0000
858.2500
some of the adjacent sites are according to Pro96Com are:
770.18125
774.53125
770.20625
770.21875
The problem is if I try to program the 700MHz sites on my BCD396XT, the scanner will not show the entire frequency and omits the 5 to the far right of the decimal.
ProScan rounds the frequencies up (i.e. 770.18125 becomes 770.1813). FreeScan will accept the entire frequencies, but when uploaded to the scanner, the ending 5 isn't shown under edit site frequencies. I also get the same result if the frequencies are manually entered on the scanner. These sites with 700MHz frequencies are not in my immediate area, so I can't verify if the programming will actually work, even though the scanner omits the ending 5. My question is why won't my 396XT show the entire frequency? (5 digits to the right of the decimal should be allowed). And even though the entire frequency isn't shown, will the programming still work? It will be some time before I can physically get to areas where the 700MHz sites are within range.
Also is there a bug with ProScan rounding up the frequency, or is it behaving the way it should?
Any guidance or input would be greatly appreciated. I'm probably missing something really simple.
