I've been testing 2021-03-19_1836 out on both of my P25RX's running on Windows 10, Linux and my 2012 MacBook Air and it is performing really well! I've run the P25RX and BTConfig software through its paces and also tested out the P25RX in a "Bluetooth" only mode (without computer) and the Button configurations and P25RX in standalone mode seem to be working as expected. This seems like a solid release so far. I will continue to test and let things run overnight to see how it goes.

Not sure if it will make a difference, but I changed the delay functions in the Java-based BTConfig software to utilize a system time function vs sleep for xx ms. I'm wondering if this might be more stable across machines / platforms. Version 03-19_2106

I am testing it now. Works good on the 2012 MacBook Air so far. I am now going to test on the two Macs that are having severe issues with BTConfig. I'll update you here in a few minutes.

Wow! Making progress!! On the 2015 MacBook Pro, it now finds the P25, scans for about 15 seconds and then the P25RX or BTConfig just quits (console quits scrolling). I actually got about 1 second of audio I heard and then it locked up. There is also gibberish in the console window right before it quits. I have attached a screenshot showing the console and also the console log file. BTConfig and the P25RX has never made it this far on this Macbook Pro before (this is an 8 core system and is the fastest Mac I own).

I am now going to test the 2017 MacBook Air next to see if there is any improvement. I will post results shortly on that.

The 2017 MacBook Air still has the same issue, unfortunately. No noticeable improvement. It locks up after about 3-4 minutes of monitoring. I have attached screenshots of BTConfig of the console window and also of the Signal Insights tab. Things just seem to be working great and then just suddenly come to a complete halt. It's like the USB communication with the scanner just shut down or something. See attached screenshots of the "locked up" BTConfig during scanning.

I don't think this issue is a USB / firmware issue. I think this is a BTConfig / Java / Mac issue. Please give _2155 a try and post results here if you can. If this doesn't work, I will start contacting you via email for this issue to see if we can get it figured out privately before posting more here.

I will download and try _2155 Saturday morning and let you know the results. I’ll email you directly so we don’t bog down this thread anymore with Mac related stuff.

Version 2021-03-20_0513 available. Were you seeing this issue with the stable version?

Might not be related. But I’ll toss it out. I saw very similar symptoms garbage to lockup when my USB port on my Surface Pro 3 was right at the power limit for the P25. Put a powered hub on to test and the issue went away.

Sorry, I am unsure. And now can't go back from 2155. Not a big deal. Currently not seeing on 2155 after 6 hours. If I see again, or have other issues, I will upgrade to 0611 and see if issue can be replicated. Huge thanks for providing a fun new toy at a time of year I will actually be able to play with it.

Can I add a 4th click to enable/disable roaming?

version 2021-03-21_0812 adds a quad-click config option. enable/disable roaming is now a choice. The quad click is still reserved for the Bluetooth firmware update for the first two seconds after power-up.

-edit: another significant change is that talk groups load a lot faster now. This makes a huge difference if you have a large network.

Seems to work, one note that it locks on the CC that was active when the roaming/no roaming mode was activated, not disable roaming and goes to default CC. No worries, it works and as long as that's known its fine for me.

Is there a console command for the new "Skip TG" feature?
Thanks
New version 2021-03-21_1103 added an 's' console command for skip current talk group.

version 2021-03-21_1103 will return to primary control channel on roaming disable by button press.

To be honest I’m not sure if one way is better or not. I can see benefits to both ways. If you’re truly roaming in a car and travel from one system to another to lock onto the new system is good. Conversely if you have multiple systems and something is going on with the primary system locking on that is good. Argh!!!

Maybe it could be configurable

Been away from home on a business trip for the last few weeks so haven't been able to mess with my p25rx, but I see there has been lots of developments and features added lately. I'm excited to finally get to try them out!
