Likewise 2214 working great on the Cobb County regional system. A neighboring county is part of the CCRS, but is mostly encrypted. I can turn that on and off with ease now! It has been running for about 18 hours now. For some reason, I swear the audio in this version is better. Thank you for this update!

Not a problem, Sir. Any way we can help each other make this product work the best it can. So far I'm very impressed with not only the price point and what you get for your dollar, but also the level of support and development from you. We could never expect this kind of support from a consumer scanner manufacturer. Paul Opitz was good, but not this good!

Speaking personally... I don't care if a scanner has buttons or looks like a radio. The P25rx works great for me, I plug it in - it pairs to my speaker and I am listening within seconds. Its small so I can put it in a little gear case and be on my way.

The application is 7 megs, very light - it lets me know what's actually in range / received. So I don't have to waste time adding stuff I will never be able to hear. Very very handy for my use case, which is primarily my state's P2 LSM system.

I've got 3 of these running on 3 separate Motorola P25 Phase 2 systems (all with LSM) and currently in the midst of a moderate snow storm in the Philadelphia area and they aren't missing a beat! One county currently has a working fire going as well as all 3 seeing significant amounts of EMS calls. Time to get on the list for 1 or 2 more 😁

When I got my P25RX at Christmas, I decided to set aside a bunch of time to get it working. I recalled my experience with the BCD996P2 scanner, which had a very steep learning curve (at least for me) It took many starts, detours and stops before I got it working the way I wanted. I had plenty of spare time after I connected the P25RX, downloaded BTConfig, and added the control channel. A few SECONDS later, I was greeted with a steady flow of radio traffic! So, I second the idea of not needing buttons! It just works!!! Bravo!

I am running 1118 now, no issues.

New "Alt Testing" version available. Version 2021-02-18_0805. It is the same as _1118, but with the ability to import the DSD Talk Group files available in the downloads section on RR for each system. To use it:

1) Download the DSD file from RR and save it to the "Documents/p25rx" folder on WIndows or ~/p25rx/ on Linux.
2) Rename the file to have a '.dsd' file extension.
3) From the Talk Group Editor tab in BTConfig press the "Import CSV" button and select the .dsd file you downloaded.
You should have a list of talk groups!

The files are actually text, csv formatted files. You could append multiple files before the import if you have multiple systems. If you edit these files directly, you must leave the first line of the file intact with the "DSDPlus.groups" string.

Todd, Where is the P2 tones set up?
The P2 tone configuration is currently based on the tone-id mappings in the boatbod fork of the OP25 project. It isn't currently configurable. I was thinking that a table could be added to allow editing of the programmable ranges of tone-id frequencies. If you have examples of what you are looking for in terms of editing, please let me know.

-edit: If you would like me to post what the current mappings are, let me know.

Is it possible to run two or more P25RX units at the same time on one PC?

Yes, starting with the _1304 stable version, you can run multiple instances of the BTConfig software. The P25RX MAC ID is used to identify multiple audio output devices , audio recording folders, etc configurations.

Dan, glad to hear you got the 3rd unit up and running good!

I am running 1118 now, no issues.

Thanks for testing and reporting on _1118. ..and sharing the positive experience!

I really like Page 9 of this thread. I love it when things appear to be working good for most. Makes me not want to mess with the code for a while : )
