How do I get into Bootloader mode?
Hold the TG button while applying power. After about 10 seconds, the leds will light up. Let go of the button and the leds will start to flash rapidly. The leds flashing rapidly indicates that the device is in bootloader mode.

Thanks, I'll try and give this a shot.

I have my P25RX in bootloader mode, it is set to slow on my CF-19 and it still reads "Status: erasing app area, sending new ... " and "working" for the past 30+ min.

Any other suggestions?

Do you have a desktop or other machine that you could finish the update with? Does the application run ok on the CF-19 if the firmware is already updated?

Same issue with the Win 10 table. Maybe I'll try it with my Mac?

Tried it in my MacBook Pro ... same thing, it just sits around 20% and won't move to update it.

Try a complete reset of the flash and see if that helps. To do this, you hold the button on power up like you did with the bootloader mode, but wait for >30 seconds until the leds go on (after 10 sec) then back off after about 30 seconds. After they are off give it 10 seconds or so to erase the entire flash. After you do this, you will need to reenter the ref frequency information on the P25RX Config tab.

Note that you only have to reenter this information for the P25RX. I mention that because we are posting on the P25RX-II thread.

I did this and now the LEDs ae flashing. Tried three times, LEDs never go off. They start to flash.

Ok. It depends on the bootloader version. Try it now.

No change. Tried the CF-19 and Mac. It gets stuck, on Slow, at 20% ... blow torch? (just kidding, I don't want to wreck it, I just want it to work as it had been. Ever since you added zones, it has been fantastic! It was just great before Zones)

I'm sorry I haven't been able to chime in on this until now but I was having the same issue with 2022-02-04_1928, everything I tried was unsuccessful. I did the full reset as you described and revered back to an old version and am currently having no issues.

Hi @scannerboy02, version 2022-02-04_1928 is a version specifically for the P25RX. I believe you have a P25RX-II? Are you sure that is the version you were trying?

I'm now in front of my computer and device, it's version BTCFG-II-2022-02-04_0214 that I am having trouble with. I reverted back to BTCFG-II-2021-12-19_0654, the version I was using before attempting to upgrade to BTCFG-II-2022-02-04_0214.

Thank you for clarifying the version. I'm not sure what is going on. I loaded that version here ok using linux. I'll give it a try on Windows 10 and see what happens. For reference, on linux, I used the "medium" interface speed without issue.

I was able to install version BTCFG-II version 2022-02-04_0214 without issue on Windows 10 with the medium interface speed. Let me know if you continue to have issues updating to the latest version.

Time for a status update. It has become clear to me that adding the scanning functions to the existing software/firmware is not the right way to go. As much as I didn't want to maintain 4 different software apps and 4 versions of the firmware, it appears that is the best way to go. I've also been contacted by at least one person that didn't want the advanced scanning features and asked if they could be hidden from view. This takes care of that issue as well. As I made this decision, work on the software became much easier. The new software is being laid out in a more consistent, logical way that I believe will be more intuitive. It will definitely be more flexible. Besides multi-mode scanning features, there will also be a new channel search feature. The search function will auto populate the channel configurations. The new configuration will be organized in such a way to make a display option more useful. If you haven't seen the thread discussing the Wio terminal display yet, check it out starting here: P25RX Arduino/Teensy Display project There is a video of a demonstration application for the P25RX/P25RX-II here: P25RX Wio Terminal P25 Demo Application I will post some screen captures of the new software soon.
