Todd,
Forgive me if this has been asked and answered, but for the life of me I cannot find the information in "how to use the search function". Has or does any written instruction exist?
Also, the instructions on the p25rx-ii-experimental-firmware page and the "READ THIS" when I do " Press the <add channel> button and enter the control channel frequency. the list does not show the frequency I entered.

It must be my dyslectic mind. I do not know if anyone else is struggling with this. Seem like everyone else is having fun with its new terrific new firmware.
Sorry to be a pain.

Aha, yes, I was running the display at 150%... changed to 125% and can now see all the buttons. Thanks for that tip! It also seems like there's a PL or NAC on those freqs and it's not breaking squelch because of that. Here's a shot of the console... it shows it scanning the VHF freqs.

There have been a lot of changes to how the scanning, squelch, and how it is implemented relative to P25 trunked. It could be that I'm heading in the wrong direction. There is a new version 2022-04-26_1428 available. Please give that a try. Could you post some of the console output while scanning? Yes, there are some more options for the gains that are hidden due to the window not being large enough. Can you make the window larger? Or are you on a laptop and that is the max res?

With version 2022-04-26_1428, this is the console output (a little slower scan, but getting mostly 9 tsbk per P25 trunk):
scanning freq 770.35625, tsbk: 9
scanning freq 859.96250, tsbk: 9
scanning freq 172.06250, tsbk: 9
scanning freq 154.17500, rssi: -117, squelch: -110
scanning freq 451.07500, tsbk: 9
scanning freq 380.27500, tsbk: 9
scanning freq 770.35625, tsbk: 9
scanning freq 859.96250, tsbk: 9
scanning freq 172.06250, tsbk: 9
scanning freq 154.17500, rssi: -116, squelch: -110

Testing with an RF signal generator, the squelch is reliable for weak signals on the NBFM channel being scanned. If I remove the antenna, then it very quickly scans for a signal like this:
scanning freq 154.17500, rssi: -123, squelch: -110
lost sig: scanning freq 451.07500, rssi: -130, squelch: -127, evm 16
lost sig: scanning freq 451.07500, rssi: -130, squelch: -127, evm 16
lost sig: scanning freq 380.27500, rssi: -116, squelch: -110, evm 16
lost sig: scanning freq 770.35625, rssi: -120, squelch: -110, evm 16
lost sig: scanning freq 859.96250, rssi: -129, squelch: -120, evm 16
lost sig: scanning freq 172.06250, rssi: -130, squelch: -120, evm 16

It should work. Are you entering the frequency in MHz? Also, make sure that the scroll slider is all the way up next to the frequency list. It could be hidden if it is scrolled down.

Let me know if the latest version doesn't take care of it. I hope I'm not leaving the software in a bad state today, but I need to take care of some other things for a while. I'll keep checking the forum. Should I put an older version back up from this morning?

Nah, thanks though. Gettin' close to dinner time here and gotta get some other stuff done too. Tomorrow's another day! I will try 1428 in the meantime and report back tomorrow morning. Cheers, my friend... thanks for all you do!

I see there are still issues version _1428. I'm putting 04-26_0435 back up from this morning. This was before all the changes to scanning. I will be back to working on firmware tomorrow AM. Putting a value of 1 in the global settings->timeout will slow the scan way down, but should make trunked scanning reliable for now. Tomorrow, I will work on getting the control channel "status bits" working. That is a much faster way to scan.

OK, based on this I decided to stick with 13:37, just hold on my P25-P2 system (can catch VHF on my other scanners) and call it a night. Audio is the best I've heard on P2 (and P1 for that matter). Taco Tuesday... time for eatings!

EDIT: PS: Any way to recover the Zone Alias assignments from the non-ADV version?

Not yet, but that would be a possibility to add a function for that. They are still there, but in a different "java preferences storage area".

I should be soldering, but I wanted to try something else. It appears that 2022-04-26_1705 is scanning P25 trunked + analog well. I'm going to let this run and stream over Bluetooth to the other room while I get some soldering done this evening. Thanks for all the help testing today everyone.

Todd good morning I loaded config 2022-04-26 18:08 it was running perfect and sounds great until I turned on Auto Detect P25 Modulation. It turned into dueling Modulation audio fell apart choppy turned it off every thing back to normal. I am in the Detroit area. When I have No Voice Timeout set to 2 scanning everything is playing great I hope this helps others that might have had the same problem. Thanks keep up the great work.

Thank you. I can confirm that the auto detect option isn't currently working right. It appears that the auto detect does display the correct modulation in signal insights when the "Auto Detect P25 Modulation" option on the P25RX Configuration page is disabled (default). For now, please disable that option on the first tab, and select the correct modulation in the channel configuration (per frequency).

I believe the issues yesterday and today (with the auto-lsm option) are probably related to a change to the rssi calculations. A "fast_rssi()" function was implemented. There is most likely the cause of several current issues. This is what I will be working on today. I'll post later when I have something figured out.

No, I was asking about P2 decodes being interrupted (almost immediately) during scanning. The SKIP_TG_EVT is normal. That means that the voice timeout for the current talk group has not yet expired and you are receiving a voice grant for another talk group. You will notice that there is a number associated with that event that decreases to 0 when you see multiples. That is the number of milliseconds left for the current talk group timeout. This timeout is configured on the TG Editor tab and has a default of 1 second.

Hi Todd,
Did you have success getting the NXDN to work? 4800 and 9600 type C and D?? Conventional and Trunk Track. It actually will trunk track talkgroups in a list?
I'll pull the trigger ( on buying, not myself lol ) if you answer yes to those queries.
Sorry, NXDN is conventional only. It works great scanned @ 4800 here. Nobody has reported on the new NXDN 9600 rate yet. Please report if it works for you (anyone). There is at least one other person who would really love trunked NXDN, but I can't tell you when it will happen yet.

Version 2022-04-27_1553 up. Please test if you have a chance. The rssi calculations are more stable and are RMS. This should improve the squelch function. Quite a few changes were done to P25 related trunk scanning. It should be improved. I haven't been able to verify that P25 P2 is working correctly when scanned yet.
