I just posted version 2021-01-02_1822. Can you test and report if this fixed the Phase II issue for you when you have a chance?
I have been following along in and out. Learning how to use my new 3D printer and FreeCAD (I need more brain ram).
I tried the latest two firmwares as requested on your website. They both do the same as waynedc has indicated. After a short time the BLKS will drop to 0 and then rapidly increase back to normal. During this time no audio is decoded. When I revert back to 12-15 1630 it works properly.
I tried several times with the same results. This is the system WSP 700 Site 2.
This is the system we tested on a while back, around the time you switched to BLKS. This system reports poor decode (in the high teens to low twenties) with a good RF level, but has great audio decode.

The MOSWIN system that WORS successfully tracks with audio is a Phase I system. The WSP system that freqseeker has issues with along with the PCWIN system that I have issues with are both Phase II systems.

Similar results with 0259. With an addendum, in both 0115 and 0259. The signal insights shows that it is 'Synched" to the system, Same dispaly at the bottom of BTConfig. No audio, no sig LED, TG is yellow>

Todd, I checked both 0115 and 0259 on a Phase II system and I get the same results - no audio during voice channel grants as also reported by rdlafore. And reverting back to the 12-15-2020 release and all is well again.

I do not know what all of the edits you are making to the 12-15-2020 release, but something is really messing with how Phase II systems or a Phase II system control channel is being treated. I am almost positive that the control channel in a Phase II system is FDMA (Phase I) and it just dishes out the voice channels and time slots as needed but they are TDMA (Phase II). It tracks the control channel just fine and sees and reports the voice channel grants but then it just drops the voice channel without passing TDMA audio and moves on to the next channel grant.

Is it possible to find a few of your users who are truly monitoring Phase II systems to do some tests. Then you can take the 12-15-2020 release and add in one edit at a time until we find what is breaking this?

Reverting back to 1630, works fine here. I had tested the releases 0904, and had audio on the CCRS system, but it was lower than the audio in 1630. I did not spend a bunch of time with 0904, due to the low and somewhat variable audio levels.

Audio started to decrease and become distorted on 0259 but a system_reset fixed it.

@relicwr,
Are you seeing any issues with P25 TDMA channels on version 0259?

Is it possible to find a few of your users who are truly monitoring Phase II systems to do some tests. Then you can take the 12-15-2020 release and add in one edit at a time until we find what is breaking this?
I would do that, but there have been a LOT of changes. Many of the changes were made while a friend was monitoring a TDMA system in the Seattle area. I would just throw out the changes (and maybe I will have to), but the new firmware implements the majority of a "scanner" and also has all the new code for driving the LCD display. I really don't want to throw all that out. I think we should keep testing changes until it is found. We don't have to do this on the public forum. You can also e-mail / direct-contact if you want to do it that way. It is going to be a one-liner change..

I can't get Macon good at this time. On my system alone it kept getting worse so I went back to 01-01 1325.

There is a new version available 2021-01-03_0926. It is working for someone that was having TDMA issues in prior versions. Please test. Thanks!

I posted about version 2021-01-03_0926 too soon. It works for a while then starts dropping some TDMA grants. (not completely). It appears there is still a remaining issue.

I am trying to set this up to run on Linux Mint, as an experiment. So far, I have the GUI running, but it says at the bottom, "Discovering device, please wait". Then in a Linux window it repeats this message:

"found device on : ttyACM0 BlueTail -P1" then, "closed attempting to close locked port Bluetail-P1"

This is as far as it gets. Can anyone help? I'm not too Linux fluent.

Add
KERNEL=="ttyACM[0-9]*",MODE="0666"
to /etc/udev/rules.d/50-myusb.devices

sudo udevadm control --reload
^ that might not be needed. Unplug the receiver and plug it in. Try without sudo with java -jar filename

I am running 01-03-1143 and still having the problem. I'm not seeing the BLKS go up and down wildly, but I'm not able to sit at the computer for very long today. I logged two hits and then nothing.
If it helps, I am noticing the RF AGC gain plot is going up and down more than usual. It's like it is trying to find the sweet spot but over compensates. The stable version doesn't do this.
I will keep checking in case you need anything from me.
Thanks for all you're doing.

Todd, using today's release 1143 I was able to get it to decode PII audio after the firmware was updated but the audio lasted only for a few transmissions and somewhere around 1-2 minutes then it stops and we get the same console messages I was getting before. The only thing I can do to get the audio back is to reload the 1143 firmware after switching back to the 12-15-2020 release first. Here is the log from the console at the time the audio was being received and then stopped:

The latest versions (including today's release) are working for at least two people when decoding Phase II from my understanding.

Stellar decoding here. 100% Phase II system (actually one of the first in the country - started as the Pierce Transit system which then morphed into the Pierce County SCWCS and then became part of the larger South Sound 911 system).

I have logs and recordings that attest how well the P25RX works on a Phase II system. It's running 24 hours a day monitoring/recording 1 talkgroup. My only beef was the USB issue but that has vanished with the addition of the watchdog/multiple unit. I make it a point to update to the latest firmware as soon as I get a notification that it has been posted to the device website.

I'm updating to 1422 as I'm typing this and my schedule is wide open over the next week to mess around with testing.

The P25 RX has been rock solid which can't be said for any other device that I have pressed into use for this type of work. SDR's, a SDS100, a Unication G5, a Pro 668. They all seem to develop issues that require me to fart around with them.

Anyone wants recordings or logs, let me know. Here's a days worth of audio from 12/31/20.
