My original notion was a box the RS232 plugged into. This had the switch and resistors for the various programming modes. A universal programming interface if you will. from there the cable would go to the UDC connector.
Point here is the resistors don't have to be at the UDC.
Well, the finish is this ugly snurd for the UDC and a toggle switch protruding from the glob.
It works, so that was where I left it.
