So Lehigh County is up and running? If so I hope I can hear them soon along with Northampton County too.

Yes, Lehigh has been online for sometime now. PSP is full time encryption. At some point Penn Dot will come online. Game Commission is online, but not used much in our area yet.

Stroudsburg (MONR09), is listed as Northampton County, which is also online.

Do you know which one Lehigh County will be using like Emmaus or what??

Went through the logs. I've had some on Emmaus (LEHI01) too. Nothing at all from my location on Bowmanstown (LEHI06).

Question do you think I should make a separate bank like one for Northampton County and then another one for Lehigh and Bucks then Schuylkill County So then when it stops on something at least I know what county possibly I’m listening to. Also what would be other good ones to program that I should be able to pick up

My experience so far has been hearing Game Commission from various locations over several counties. So, for now, I just have everything under the favorites list PA-STARNet P25. Once Penn Dot comes online, then maybe it'll be worth a change to separate favorites lists by county.

I've been using my TRX-1 to record and log all the hits. Plus, with the TRX-1 I can actually monitor PSP, although they are encrypted.

If there was any audio I missed it, I did have two radios, the laptop w/sdr all going plus trying to figure out where I was so...

After reading Mike's theory above, I would lean towards BEDF601, Kintons Knob. Reason being it's the home to Bedfords 2 meter repeater which I can receive near my residence. I'm certain a signal from Everett I wouldn't be able to receive. Looks like a Bedford trip maybe in the near future unless DSheirer or N3BGA have something new to report

Site 107 update.

I made another trip earlier today, using the S-meter on my D-710 for keeping an eye on signal strength on the move. Crossing the mountain on PA-484 near Warfordsburg / FULT04, 161.85 was not received on the east side, and was weak on the west side. It's not FULT04.

Driving south on Beans Cove Rd from Chaneysville to I-68 signal was reasonably strong. In Cumberland, MD, I had intermittent signal, though since I was not decoding it, I can't rule out it was something else. From Corriganville MD to Hyndman PA it was full scale.

I attempted to visit Hyndman (BEDF30) but the site appears to be on private property beyond a locked gate, signs, etc., so I did not get there. From 3/4 mile away, the signal was very strong, I could not receive it with nothing plugged into the receiver, but an antenna lead without antenna was sufficient. From the Game Commission bridge off of Tiger Valley Rd, Site 107 was readily decodable and I could receive none of its neighbors. From this location, I would expect decent radio isolation on all sides.

Driving back towards Bedford on PA-96, I had full scale signal until going past the end of the mountain on US-30 east, towards Bedford. From the turnpike east, the signal was not consistently strong again. I believe this continues to rule out Kinton Knob, BEDF601, and Everett (BEDF03).

Right now, my thought is that Site 107 is originating (at least) from Hyndman (BEDF30). Perhaps it is still worth a closer visit to Myersdale (SOME07) to try to conclusively rule it in or out. I think that would be easier than getting closer to BEDF30 to get a more conclusive result from it.

Looking at a map with 107 as BEDF30 makes a lot of sense. In particular the fact that Site 40 (SOME05) is a peer. If 107 were located more centrally in Bedford County, I'd expect to see Site 47 (HUNT04) as a peer, and not Site 40 as it currently is.

Site 107 peer list:
3 - Fulton Simulcast
39 - Bald Knob (SOME02)
40 - Negro Mountain (SOME06)
41 - Martin Hill (BEDF02)
77 - Blue Knob (BEDF13)

Looks like there's a DCNR repeater at BEDF30 - 156.0525 "Tiger Valley". Perhaps that strengthens the case for 107 being co-located up there.

Does anyone have a .KML file with the locations of the transmitter sites? I would like to import into Google Earth if you would care to share.

If you really want to know where this site is located, get a few hams and some directional finding equipment and go looking, by the time their done you will know exactly where the site is.

The TRX-1 doesn't pass over encrypted transmissions like the Uniden scanners do. I can't hear any comms, just see the TGID and radio ID. The TRX scanners also allow me to mute the encryption sound.

What he means is not that he can HEAR them, just that the scanner will stop on them, so you know when there is activity. No one knows what the activity IS, but they know its there.

Last Friday I drove around to various areas between Bedford, Manns Choice, Cessna, Buffalo Mills and along the Rt 3017 valley that parallels Rt 96 valley South of Manns Choice.

I received the strongest signal on Route 56 at the hilltop at this address:

5616 Mountain Rd, Bedford, PA 15522.

The signal dropped off quickly as I headed North on 56 from this location, which would indicate the site is South of this location since it was being terrain masked by the hill as I drove North on 56.

Heading West from Cessna from the intersection of 56 and business 220, the signal dropped off quickly. This was terrain masking again from the hills to the south of Rt 56.

Heading West on 31 from Manns Choice, the same thing, the signal dropped off considerably due to terrain masking as you leave the Rt 96 valley.

The signal was strong and decodeable all along the the Rt 96 valley from Cessna down to Buffalo Mills. The signal was medium to low along the Rt 3017 valley from Manns Choice to Buffalo Mills. Rt 3017 is the next valley East of the Rt 96 valley.

My best guess for the site is the area directly south of the address I listed. There are two very tall Cell tower sites directly South of the strongest reading location:

1) 382 O'Brien Rd, Manns Choice, PA 15550
2) 40.030956, -78.576161

Either of these two sites would provide the coverage and signal strengths that I was seeing for Site 107 along I99, along Route 96 South to Hindman, and the dropoffs due to terrain masking that I was seeing as I headed East and West out of the Rt 96 Valley. These sites also check with the signal readings I was seeing at the Bedford PA turnpike interchange where the end of the mountain immediately West of Bedford would have been masking the signal from these two sites. These two sites would also be perfect gap filler for the PA turnpike west of Bedford where the various mountains can block each of the known/existing sites.

Dept of Transportation - District 01 Talkgroups

Heard the last couple of night of snow

TGP 11712 Mapleshade trucks- Announcement was heard for all Mapleshade trucks to remember to take a lunch on this talkgroup

TGP 11710 Franklin Area trucks- Heard trucks talking about Mercer Rd (US 62) and Pittsburgh RD( SR 8), they were also talking about hitting Cooperstown and Barkeyville areas. Believe this is the western half of Venango Co

TGP 11711 Pleasantville Trucks- Heard talk of Eagle Rock area and Routes 8 And 417 areas

I have also submitted this info, if anyone else monitoring the Seneca site can also confirm that'd be great!

also heard an announcement on 11711 "to all Pleasantville and Cherrytree trucks, midnight shift is not coming in". I'm wondering if they have they counties divided into east, west, etc. Anyone else seeing this too?
