What the advantage of getting a p25 phase 2 scanner in Bradford and tioga county pa. Are you able to hear state police or still under the pa starnet non scannable looking at the bcd 996p2

I get STARNet quite well in Bradford County. I assure you that PSP is encrypted. And Tioga County, with the possible exception of Westfield, is not yet online.

Heard TG 11212 in Erie County yesterday, with reference to the "shed". It's listed as DOT Maintenance District 3 Chipping ERIE80 (05/21/2020) in the Wiki. That's Forest County, which I never heard in Erie before.

So your picking up p25 phase 2 in bradford

From Mt. Pisgah

I was in Tioga County yesterday and picked it up there as well, though I don't remember the location. But monitoring your three sites from Rte 15 all I got was dead air. Looking at the map (BRAD31) Mansfield is included in the coverage area. But I wasn't in Mansfield that long, and the scanner was dedicated to TIOG06 and TIOG42.

What were u picking up
Mostly PGC for now. They are most active on Saturday. But I also get Towanda PSP and Mansfield PSP, encrypted, of course. I think Iv'e heard talking to units in Tioga county but STARNet has such a wide range I can't always tell.

And if your'e wondering about PENNDot, as some on here, they held me up yesterday up in Coryland. They were using NXDN. But the frequency I heard them on (151.505) is licensed to Hawbaker and was more likely them.

You may be too far north but LYCO15 is active as well.

So basically just stick to my analog scanner since psp can’t be heard

Heard TG 2004 calling Warren County today from Erie County. Listed as "20004 Warren Co Radio Testing ERIE40/WEST30 (09/16/2019)" in the Wiki. Also heard TG 11157 yesterday. PennDOT from Crawford County.

It was Sunday afternoon they were trying to catch ppl looting Walmart and track down a guy that stole a tv
I assure you it was not heard over the PA StarNet system. It was likely a PSP unit using a Philly system channel. They DO have the local systems in their dual band radios.

I noticed in the wiki that there is a group of RIDS identified as Warren County radios 262xxxx. Alphabetically, Warren is county #62. If they follow a logical scheme, then some of the other mystery RIDS in the wiki may be: 212xxxx Cameron, 227xxxx Forest, 242xxxx McKean, 243xxxx Mercer, 244xxxx Mifflin, 260xxxx Union. I have no idea whether this is correct, or not. McKean and Forest would make sense as there are units in both counties that run into Warren. Cameron Co had EMA talkgroups on OpenSky that would likely also continue on the P25. Mifflin is migrating to STARNET. I don't know anything about Mercer or Union. I could be totally wrong. But, something to keep an eye on.

The PennDOT TG list is not confirmed, there very well may be changes along the way, It's not cut in stone, and until we can obtain something concrete, That's the way it'll be. (It's what the wiki is for)

I've been thinking for some time that the Milling TG block and the Garage TG block may need rearranging/swapped somehow as well.
TG 11779 is currently being used and referred to by York units as D8 Milling not Garage as listed.
It makes my cerebellum ache.
If you could include any observed RID's in your reports, Small details can be a big help. :)
Take a look at the list,
What do you think 11212 should be? "Shed" by itself is a very loose reference and could be heard in any county in the state.
Not sure where you got Forest Co from.. (Not enough info)
These are in District 3..
  • 3-1 Bloomsburg (Columbia County)
  • 3-2 Montoursville (Lycoming County)
  • 3-3 Mausdale (Montour County)
  • 3-4 Sunbury (Northumberland County)
  • 3-5 Selinsgrove (Snyder County)
  • 3-6 Laporte (Sullivan County)
  • 3-7 Wellsboro (Tioga County)
  • 3-8 Lewisburg (Union County)
  • 3-9 Towanda (Bradford County)
Appreciate everyone's observations (y) It's how these things get worked out, Especially as more areas get radios..
