THanks for another great capture!

Anyone within the areas below should check:

Code:
154.755 MIFF35 1-063 Lewistown
155.46 HUNT02 1-062 Huntington / Loop Lookout
158.8425 FRAN02 1-050 South Mountain
151.2275 FULT## 1-048 FULT01 (Wells Tannery) or FULT40 (Tuscarora Mtn)
154.4225 HUNT40 1-047 Mount Union
154.9425 SNYD02 1-046 Beavertown / Richfield / Shade Mtn

I don't think these have been directly monitored by anyone yet -- If they have, it hasn't been reported in the forums. It's be nice to verify if they were actually online. I know they may be too far from your locale, but I figured I'd ask in case others might want to check as well. And the CC for any of these could have changed.

Thanks!

Mike

I travelled this area today. I uploaded four .png files with unitrunker data from Loop Lookout and Mt Union. Lewistown was not advertising today. Travelling Route 22 from Westmoreland to Harrisburg these sites pretty covered the trip: Derry, Lower Yoder, Loop Lookout, Mt Union if Lewistown was on, then Ellendale.
Impressive when the low ERP is considered.

Jim

Mystery Site 77 ??

Today I was able to capture SITE 1-77 on 161.8000 voice/alternate 161.8625. The mystery is where is it located ? My guess and it's only a guess is Blue Knob BEDF13

Just to make sure my 436 was working correctly, I deleted all the avoids I had entered up for the PSP encrypted channels. I'm not hearing anything now. Before I would hear the encrypted audio on the PSP channels, but now it looks like the talkgroups come up and light the display, but no audio is heard.

Has something changed with software updates so that encrypted audio is not heard at all now?

Activity on the Bellefonte/CENT16 system: 155.670 154.695 154.8525

Talkgroup 10160 Encrypted

Is the project ahead of schedule?

Did you actually identify every one of those frequencies as being in use? Or did you just list those frequencies based upon looking at a license?

Were you using Pro96Com / Unitrunker to monitor it, or did you just plug i into your scanner?

Do you have any information on the System ID / Site ID that displayed when you are monitoring it?

There are multiple areas licensed for 154.695 -- some of suspected it would be CENT16. But we don't know for sure. Knowing all of the active frequencies on it by monitoring it with Pro96Com / Unitrunker / DSDPlus is really what is needed to clearly identify that it is CENT16, unless somebody is able to visit the actual site, remove an antenna, and verify they are still getting the signal.

Scroll down this linked page and read 1.15.00 Release Notes (04/20/2018) & later.

It's exactly why some forum members have been begging & pleading for an option to disable this wonderful feature. Despite those who call us drunk alien robots for requesting such a feature.

I gave up after this discourse.. http://forums.radioreference.com/un...firmware-1-20-00-available-2.html#post2934447
But there was plenty prior & every time I had to duck the bull-shot from (apparently highly regarded and undisputable members) and was told to move along & start making sense. (Along with many others who agreed) You can search my forum posting history and see.. Except the ones the moderator/s permanently deleted. encryption muting

Yes. Encrypted transmissions are logged, then immediately skipped over. So if you are running ProScan or a discovery session, you can see what talkgroups have encrypted activity, but the scanner no longer hangs on garbled audio.

Seems like it is on schedule. Rollout is following PSP troops. Since Troop G covers the Centre County stations, it would not be out of the question. PGC, PennDOT, and other state agencies will follow along over the next few years. PSP is on the fast timeline for rollout. Given that the northern tip of Centre gets pretty far up there, it is possible some other sites closer to you could come online over the summer. The rest, farther north, will be a few more years as the rollout progresses over to the SE troops and then to the NE and finally wrapping around across the northern tier back to Troop C.

I also would like the option to turn it on and off. Here in Erie County right now it's pretty much PSP and that's it. Before when I could hear the encrypted aujdio at least I knew I had my scanner set up correctly. Now with no audio I'm not always sure if things are working or not.

I may look into the Discovery sessions, but it looks pretty involved to just show what TG's are encrypted.

Discovery limits you to one site on one system.

This non-selectable "Encryption Muting/Skipping" feature Uniden is providing takes away the users choice to avoid (or not) TG's by automatically avoiding them for you.
It takes the users choice of what to monitor away.

Regardless of why a user may or may not desire such a feature It should be a user selectable option.

Not take it or lump it!

I'm sorry, I just don't understand why anybody wants constant encryption noise. If you set the scanner to do audio recordings, it will catch the brief pauses on the encrypted groups and you can review them later if you want to see what they were. I do this and run Pro96com with an older scanner when I am in the Harrisburg area in order to gather data on the system (talkgroups, RIDS, etc). I much prefer the muting versus the tons of encrypted noise that would otherwise tie up the scanner from receiving clear traffic. Remember, at some point, more clear users will appear. I suppose making it user selectable would be ideal, but I don't mind the muting at all.
