• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

It is online again, but the signal is about half the strength it was before it went offline.
Interesting, Perhaps an antenna adjustment? climbing today, yuck.
Maybe a LP test before Full power returns??
Power outages? Backup failures? Equipment swap outs? Heaven knows.

And now 1.79 is back on. Wonder if somebody is driving to Oxford right now?
The ID that made that call was a new one.

Neighbor list remained the same.

Anybody have any chance to confirm these sites? They are not in the database, but I think they've all been reported as neighbors.

I guess that's what happens when you implement trunking in the vast mess that is VHF highband...and then decide to add 800Mhz...and then need NTIA help to flesh out the VHF....and then decide to "go big or go home" and make it "all band" just because you can.

Don't forget the UHF cell in Erie County. It's worth noting that the system's band plan is currently maxed out at 16 entries.
