WQUX222 makes no sense based on the reported peers of Site 107. Besides that, there's already a VHF site (43) at Bellefonte (CENT16). Not sure why they programmed that BSI into the repeater.

161.9 or 161.900...trailing zeroes really don't matter. The -1 and -2 indicate the TDMA slots.

I was on the east side of Johnstown southern Cambria County at a high spot, signal was poor but good enough to decode. The propagation characteristics is similar to several 2 meter repeaters in the Meyersdale area of Somerset County. I am thinking 107 maybe at SOME04 along the turnpike or SOME07 near Hays Mills Fire Tower.

Took a trip to Meyersdale SOME07. Had good signal and decode throughout the Meyersdale area. Attempted to go to the transmitter site to confirm signal but was unable to access the site due to the access road being in very poor condition.

Thanks, Dan. Given the latest neighbor list, I really suspect it's going to be in Bedford Co somewhere. Look at the map exerpt.

107 is a neighbor of Sites 3, 39, 40, 41 and 77

Unless 107 is up near Somerset, or between sites 39 and 41, OR in the Bedford area of Bedford Co, I would not expect it to list Site 77 as a neighbor.

If Site 107 was in Somerset or north of it, I would expect it to list site neighbors that include 35 and/or 36 and/or 66.

If Site 107 was between sites 39 and 77 I would also expect it to list site neighbors that include 35 and/or 36.

If Site 107 was between sites 3 and 77 I would expect it to list neighbors that include 47 and/or 62.

I really suspect to be in Bedford proper, or SE of Bedford proper.

Of course, I suppose the site could be a much lower profile site without the high-elevation view of some of the others, which might throw a wrench into the works when it comes to depending upon site neighbors.

Any audio from 10080? That should be Global Tac 2. Somebody doing testing? Maybe DCNR at Shawnee State Park?

I'm still putting my money on Everett BEDF03.

If there was any audio I missed it, I did have two radios, the laptop w/sdr all going plus trying to figure out where I was so...

After reading Mike's theory above, I would lean towards BEDF601, Kintons Knob. Reason being it's the home to Bedfords 2 meter repeater which I can receive near my residence. I'm certain a signal from Everett I wouldn't be able to receive. Looks like a Bedford trip maybe in the near future unless DSheirer or N3BGA have something new to report

It might be worth noting that the Turnpike Commission recently licensed their planned 700 system at the BEDF03 Everett site (they already have a VHF site at that location).

I’m curious to see if any low power repeaters pop up in state parks with just a cc and one voice frequency (two talk paths) once DCNR starts coming on board. 151.160 is licensed statewide by DCNR and could possibly be used as a CC with the existing analog repeater pair converted to TDMA use depending on local licensing conflicts. They have a lot of portable users and the system, overall, is designed for mobiles. This is the same reason the narrowband analog repeaters have stayed around despite DCNRs migration to OpenSky...they were never satisfied with OpenSky coverage in parks. With 120+ state parks, DCNR has a lot to consider for their end users that isn’t quite the same as a trooper driving around all day with a repeater in the trunk.

Depending on the park would be easier lighting up a 700 MHz site for frequency licensing.....I doubt using 151.160 for a CC is an easily doable thing. and if I am not mistaken 3 freqs is the minimum for trunking on the controller. Haven't looked in a while.

Haven't spoke to the DCNR folks recently... we started talks in October with DCNR and my county but due to year end and everyone burning up vacation days, waiting till after the 1st of the year to resume talks....

Interesting twist on Opensky for u... here at Ohiopyle and the Faye09 site.... DCNR has better coverage off of opensky than they do the VHF system.... and I have better coverage off my county system on 800 from Faye09 than DCNR does with Opensky or their VHF.

They're already using almost all of the state allocation of 700 MHz for the air-to-ground sites, as well as the DVRS for the P25 system. Turning the existing DCNR VHF channels into ASTRO 25 ASR would be less of a hassle licensing wise for a contained area.

No issue with only two frequencies at an ASTRO 25 ASR. Indeed there are a few examples of those within the STARNet P25 system currently. Harris actually offers composite control channels where you can have a single frequency trunked site. The control channel switches over to traffic mode when necessary, and at the completion of the call, reverts to control. I don't recall if MSI offers that yet for an ASTRO 25 system.
