Here in Somerset at exit 110 a pl of 136.5 is now being used on this frequency. Is anyone else noticing this anywhere along the turnpike? I'm curious to see if this is statewide.

Districts 1, 4, 5 use a repeater input of 179.9 and an output PL of 136.5
Districts 2 & 3 use a repeater input of 179.9 and an output of 94.8

I'm aware of the repeater tones and I have them in my scanners, but I'm talking about the simplex car to car frequency of 159.000. Until recently there was no pl on this channel. Over the past week I have confirmed that 136.5 is being used on 159.000 in the Somerset area. Anyone else noticing a pl on this frequency out there? If this is statewide then all turpike channels would now have a pl.

Are you sure its a PL of 13.65 and possibly not a DPL which can cause falsing on 136.5?

If the 136.5 shows up at the start and end of TX then its probably a falsing on DPL, try to see if it has a DPL code.

Yes I tried that. I'm sure it's a pl, nothing showed up on dpl. I'm using a Pro-92. I've entered the pl and closed the bank and hear the traffic.

The 136.5 PL has been active on PTC channel 6, 159.000, for a few months now here in District 4.

It's looking like an update to the PTC database may be in order. I'm glad they're using a pl now. My base scanner, a RS pro-2036 gets alot of images and intermod on this frequency. Not one ofthe better radios in this dept. CTCSS is pretty much a must on this unit.

Last trip I had on the Turnpike I did not hear any traffic on 159.000 so I can't help with that. But, I did notice that the Turnpike has changed the PL's to the inputs.
MM 000 - 100 (Ohio Line - Donegal) 156.195 PL 136.5 input, 159.045 PL 135.5 Output
MM 100 - 200 (Somerset - Everett) 156.225 PL 94.8 Input, 159.075 PL 94.8 Output.

Dual Repeater Freq Use

All 5 Rptr. sites now use use both sets of TX/RX freqs for voice traffic, where as before they only had 1....

This dual Freq capabitliy (159.0450/159.0750)was reported as part of the new PL assignments. Any evidence of this? If so, I would assume both would use same PL assigned to district.
