These are for pyramid systems they had set up. I have noticed the audio change on 159.0450 my thought is they are patched into 800mhz system. Turnpike Services & Mutual Aid companies are still using the general repeater system
Read the licenses carefully folks. . . . Station Class FBT is for a fixed portable station they can deploy anywhere. . . . . It would be worthy of punching the freqs into a scanner and listening. . . . . never know what you might hear on those.

The new responder trucks or radio ID "Location" 100 (eg. Gibsonia 100) trucks have the pyramid attached to the regular Kenwood radio. The pyramid can be turned off or on by the operator. In order to use the portable radio in the truck the pyramid must be turned on. The portable radio then transmits and receives through the Kenwood radio in the truck. Whatever channel the Kenwood radio is on, the portable radio is on without having to change the channel on the portable radio. This has made the portable radio much more reliable for the operator of the "100" truck to transmit and receive while he is out of the truck. With the pyramid "on" the portable radio transmits and receives on frequency 458.56250 and the regular district channel the Kenwood radio is on. It sounds confusing, but it is really quite simple.
Ive been wondering if some of the d1 patrol units have been using MDT's for more of their calls, dispatching etc.. Not hearing as much police activity as I am used to hearing. Still hear maint calls etc.
