Does anybody still do much of this? all the programs seem quite old and don't work with Vista.

Most of the development for that was done here in the states and since it's such a big no-no out here to decode pagers, I doubt anyone's doing much with the code anymore. You could see if the pdw guy has anything new, I haven't checked in a while. Otherwise, just set up an old 486 or something and use that. They can be had for next to nothing at just about any secondhand store.
