pager tones

i am looking for pager tones and frequencies for grant/howard/madison county fire departments. i am a volunteer in grant county and only know ours.

Go into the "Database" at the top of this page. Click on Indiana and then navigate to the counties you want. The frequencies are there. I am not exactly sure where you would get the paging tones.

If they are known they have been added to the database, if not known go to the Uniden forum and see the pager tone-out stickthread at the top for info on determining yourself.

Forgive me for asking, but I have seen people asking for these tones for local FD's in the past and wonder, "what good are they?" How can they be used by someone with a scanner?

Newer Uniden scanners can be set to remain silent unless these tones are set, simulating a pager for when you don't want to be disturbed with 'regular' traffic.

is there a way i can get these tones through county dispatch? if i remember right my dad tried when he first started as a vollie but they wouldn't give them to him.

If they won't give them to a firefighter - they won't give them to you. Hooking up to your PC requires no one's permission.
