Hello, all.

I was down in Palm Springs for four days with the 396T. This is what I compiled.

171.675 - analog - Comm Check and "Repeater Problem. Relay to Joshua Tree"
139.2625 - sounded like a shortwave radio trying to tune
163.625 - AES encryption
168.85 - P25 In The Clear - Tail end of a transmission and "10-4"
169.5 - strange, brief keyup. never heard anything like it.
163.625 - very brief transmission, possible P25

All of the following were VSELP:
168.3875
167.8875
168.2125
168.2375
168.1375
170.5125
170.3125
169.8125
169.8375

For the record, the government 380MHz trunked, 400MHz trunked, and 400MHz conventional were all DEAD. No activity at all.

If you happen to recognize some of these freqs, go ahead and tell!

Thanks for looking.

That's an awful lot of VSELP activity for no one to know who it is. Are you sure it was VSELP or was it actually IMBE?

163.625 and 168.850 are likely Border Patrol. I believe 163.625 is used for the Indio area but can also pick it up here in western Riverside County. Some of the BP freqs are simulcast all over the place such as the Wide Area channels.

Those VSLEP freqs I've never heard out here so it might be locally used in the desert area only.
