• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Hello,

Here in the low country.. I've seen 3 talk groups show up this week that I'm not familiar with. I've never seen any affiliations with these groups until now. And what I am seeing affiliate to them are higher ranking SCHP units (capts and above, including HQ), EMD, SLED, and units affiliated with the DOC. They are digital with encryption enabled. Any ideas?
Decimal / Motorola
27008 / 801688
27024 / 801689
27040 / 801690

the radio Decimal IDs that are affiliating are:
270xx's; 271xx's; 273xx's; 55xxx's; 610xx's and several Motorola techs in the 65000 range.

I have several of the 27xxx's radios logged as affiliated with AIRGND, and LE Common 7 this week. Needless to say, it’s been pretty exciting this week.
Thanks for the help in advance,
David

Figured it out guys, it’s some form of executive protection, joint service with multy agencies. We have a convention this weekend in Charleston, and lots of state governors from across the country are here.

Mystery solved!

In respect to the above request, I was wondering if anyone is willing to start a "database" of unknown talkgroups. I am in Kingstree, and my primary Pal800 tower is here in Kingstree, and have about 15 talkgroups that are not identified here in RR databases. Just a suggestion, just thinking it might help us identifity the tgs that are used less frequently.

The most common one I've heard is 27200. Over the past 6 months I've heard it in the clear 10 to 12 times. On one event they said they were in Powdersville, South of Easley, on I-85. I keep a 96 in a hack mode all the time. Too many ID's to keep up with since you only hear them once a year thru smart zone. OOHHH by the way I need a Motorola to dec cross ref. Where can I get one. Pending any reply, Larry

I am seeing the South Carolina Forestry Commision are getting on the Palmetto 800 system. I see the two channels are indentified in the database, but can anyone say how many channels they have or what kinda break down of regions they use. I see one talkgroup id of 51968 showing up on unitrunker here in Kingstree, and the radios that affiliate with this channel are also showing affiliated with the SCFC roam channel. Any help will be appreciated.
