Anyone know what percentage of the Palmetto 800 is encrypted. Just asking before I purchase a trunking scanner.

All you have to do is go to the Palmetto 800 Database listing.....
Then look to the 3rd column of each talkgroup labeled "Mode".....

So any talkgroups with a lower case "e" (partial encryption) or upper case "E" (full time encryption) are listed as such.
So while some tactical talkgroups are encrypted full or part time the majority of Pal800 talkgroups are still in the clear
and can be received by any recent scanner that can handle P25 Phase 1 FDMA.
