Hello All,

I work in the City of Palo Alto so I usually listen in on the PD on my MT2000. I do not have a scanner available while at work to help me with this question.

I found the following in the database:
City of Palo Alto
482.61250 110.9PL PAPD 1
482.81250 110.9PL PAPD 2

Stanford University Police
482.61250 110.9PL PAPD/ STANFORD DISPATCH
482.81250 110.9PL PAPD2
483.33750 110.9PL PAPD3
483.56250 110.9PL PAPD4

Under both the City of Palo Alto and Stanford University, PAPD 1 and PAPD 2 both match, I also hear these on my radio, both verified.

PAPD 3 and PAPD 4 I have never heard a sound.

Recently I have heard units swithching to CH3 to talk privately. I switch to my CH3 and I dont hear anything. Maybe I have it programmed wrong.

Is there anyone else who monitors Palo Alto Police and can verify what they hear.

Under City servise there is 451.10000 listed as Tactical....is this used for Police or Utilities?

Also, my understanding is that Santa Clara Sheriff patrols Stanford University. But they are dispatched by PAPD?? Santa Clara SO is VHF while PAPD is UHF. Can anybody help with this too.

Thank you.

CH3 is 483.33750, but is D047 not PL 110.9. CH 4 is 483.5625 and D032 not PL 110.9. Both CH3 and CH4 are used by Stanford's Department of Public Safety and seem to be rarely used by PAPD except for special events at Stanford. Stanford DPS units occasionally use CH3 direct (transmitting simplex on 483.3375), designating it as CH8.

Don't often listen to the PA Public Works frequencies, but both the RR database and Kelty's GRS lists 453.700 as Public Works CH1 (general), 453.750 as Public Works CH2 (Power), 451.125 as Public Works CH3 (Water) and 451.100 as Public Works CH 4 (Tactical). The first three are repeated. Since CH4 is short range simplex used by utilities, that's probably how it got tagged as "tactical".

I've heard nothing on 860.7125, but maybe I just don't have the right equipment.

Thank you so much. I will re program my radio with the new tones. My scanner was cheap and doesn't have anything fancy. Just analog 100$ scanner. So I can't do the tone search.

Thanks again.

Can you submit that to the DB please so the DB can be updated with the correct info?
