Hi folks.
Just tonight I went to my local Pamida store to pick up a case of soda and had knoced that the clerks use Radios for communitions. Would anyone happen to know what type of Frequency they use just to monitor for fun. I mean they don't even use huge Radios. They look like FRS type. Thanks,Allan.

A lot of small businesses use FRS radios even though the FCC does not authorize the frequencies for business use. This is one place to start looking. Check out the link below for FRS frequencies.

I did a quick license search and did not find any listings for Pamida (they may be licensed under a different name). However, they may be using low power business radios, but operating without a license. Take a look at the link below for common low power business frequencies.

Many other stores like Target, Wal-Mart, Sears, etc. use low power business radios. The freqs in the links above are good to have in your scanner since they will help you catch the low power business radios no matter where you are.

Have fun scanning.

Your Pro 96 should have a Signal Stalker function that will find anything transmitting near you. I have the Pro 97 and it worked great. You might try that.

Thanks, Hill, I guess I thought since the 97 had it the more expensive 96 would have it. But I guess not.

Does the Pro 96 have the search specific services then? Like Ham, FRS/GMRS, and Public Safety.

Hi
I was searching between 480 & 490 tonight and I might have picked up my local Pamida store on 489.4750. Of course all stores use different frequencies but it can't hurt to try. Also found somebody on 486.1000, hmmm.
