Panasonic Rf 2200 dc power problems

The metal spiral in the battery compartment in my Panasonic Rf 2200 overheat in few seconds when powering on in dc mode and the radio sound fade away in few seconds until get null.
When used with 120 v cord in ac mode it works perfectly.
If somebody could help me i would appreciate very much.

Sound like you have a short across the battery - is that what you mean by "DC mode".

Hello. I have a Grundig Concert Boy Luxux 1500 which was working fine a year ago. Now it does not work and has the same problem. Not a sound out of it and the batteries get warm. Also it does not function on AC. We're you able to find the fault on the RF2200? Jerry
