I have a Panasonic RF-2400. it's very simple to work on.
it has poor sensitivity an extremely low signal/noise ratio (or high noise/signal ratio) and lots of snow on all but the strongest stations. that was for AM and using the ferrite bar antenna, I don't care about FM.
it shouldn't be like that, because reviews of this radio say it is highly sensitive and has pretty clear audio.
I adjusted the IF filter and AM RF (antenna) best as I could and it only improved a little. as in it could have used the adjustment but that wasn't the problem.
what could cause this and how to fix it?
